20 perspectives, shot using a 20-year-old film from the 20-faced platform, repeated 20 times, then printed, folded and placed onto a 20-section-template.
Blurring time, distorting space, confusing experience!
With only 14 days until my hand-in deadline, it would be fair to say that I haven't been as conscientious as I could have been with blogging my work. Over the next month – in the build up to the degree show – I'll be posting some of the experiments (successes and failures) that I've enjoyed so far this year.
Above is a quick experiment in narrating Bronzino's Venus, Cupid, Folly & Time through the gestures and contorted positions of the figures presented in the painting.
Our icosahedron structure/pinhole camera provided a platform – for the 20-year-old film we were using – to absorb the space from 20 different angles. I'm intrigued to see how the moments on the beach were recorded by a tool from the past – if it will show its history, leave any marks… I would be grateful for it to just simply work at all though!
